South Downs Guitar Ensemble Weekend

The focus of this weekend is playing in an ensemble of around 20 classical guitars. The weekend is shared with a group of up to 10 solo singers. At the end of the weekend each group performs the pieces they have been rehearsing to the other. There is no specific standard required of the guitarists. You do need to be able to read music and, of course, be ready to play in an ensemble with a conductor. Gerald Garcia will assign you a part and will email the music a few weeks in advance so that you can familiarise yourself with it.

Guitar Weekend

A classical guitar weekend for intermediate to advanced players. The course will concentrate primarily on all aspects of ensemble playing: in a large group situation and also duos, trios and quartets. Music will be sent to students prior to the course. Solo pieces can be catered for should any students have something they particularly wish to work on
