To Sunday 7th April 2019 at 2:00pm
Rednal
Hillscourt Conference Centre, Lickey Hills, Rednal B45 8RS

The focus of each weekend is playing in an ensemble of around 20 classical guitars. The weekend is shared with a group of up to 10 solo singers. At the end of the weekend each group performs the pieces they have been rehearsing to the other. Guitarists should be at least grade 5 standard, though you don’t need to have taken any exams. You do need to be able to read music and, of course, be ready to play in an ensemble with a conductor. Gerald will assign you a part and will email the music a few weeks in advance so that you can familiarise yourself with it. Gerald Garcia is a guitarist and composer and very experienced in directing guitar ensembles. He has been a tutor at numerous courses and is musical director of the residential courses of the UK’s National Youth Guitar Ensemble.
