Southern Showcase
Held on Sunday 30th June 2019 at Old Stratford Community Hall, Deanshanger Road, Old Stratford, Northants MK19 6NL and hosted by Milton Keynes Classical Guitar Society.
10am to 4pm, Sunday 30th June 2019,
Plenty of parking at the venue.
Cost is £12 per person including refreshments and light lunch.
Attending clubs can prepare up to three ensemble pieces(total 15min max) to perform in front of other clubs.
Each club player is invited to take part in performing two or three large ensemble pieces.
The large ensemble music will be sent out soon after a club has paid its registration fee.
The ensemble will be run by Raymond Burley. Please note the music for the Wales and Southern Showcases will be different.
Raymond Burley is one of Britain’s most experienced guitarists.
As a soloist he has toured extensively throughout the UK, Europe, North and South America and the Far East.
He has performed and recorded with many of England’s finest orchestras including the English Chamber Orchestra, the Philharmonia and BBC Symphony Orchestra.
He has given masterclasses and directed guitar festivals in the UK, Vancouver, Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, Seattle, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Washington DC, New York, Princeton, Kowloon, Dublin, Bonn, Bremen and Lima.
He has numerous recordings to his credit and publications with d’OZ (Canada), Durand (France), Schott and Corda UK), PWM (Poland).
